A.J. Lawson: Waived Thursday

The Raptors waived Lawson on Thursday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.

This was a surprising move, as Lawson signed a two-year deal with the Raptors in April. He'll likely head to Toronto's G League affiliate if he doesn't land another NBA deal before Opening Night. Lawson made 26 regular-season appearances for Toronto last season, averaging 18.7 minutes a night.
