Mathews was waived by the Celtics on Saturday, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports.
The three-point marksman appeared in two preseason games for the Celtics and totaled 12 points and four rebounds in 25 minutes. It seems possible he could land somewhere else with a team looking for some shooting off the bench.
