Conley will come off the bench in Saturday's preseason game against the 76ers, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
Conley started in Thursday's exhibition with Derrick White (rest) unavailable, but White is back and starting, so Conley will return to a reserve role. The 38-year-old veteran will provide some emergency depth for the Celtics at the point guard position this season, but he's not expected to have a significant role in the rotation.
