The Nets are planning to sign Ennis via hardship exemption, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The Nets currently have seven players in the NBA's health and safety protocols and have an eighth player out in Joe Harris with an ankle injury. With so many players out, Brooklyn has been granted a hardship exemption to sign a player to its active roster, and they seem to be close to having a deal with Ennis. The 30-year-old forward played for Orlando last season, appearing in 41 games while averaging a career-best 8.4 points and four rebounds in 24 minutes per contest.
