The Jazz traded Oni and a 2028 second-round pick to the Thunder, who then waived the 24-year-old to open up a roster spot Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Oni appeared in 16 games for the Jazz during his third season with the team and averaged a career-low 2.8 minutes per game. The trade allowed the Jazz to save money and open a roster spot, while the move to waive Oni also allowed the Thunder to open up a roster spot ahead of the February trade deadline. It's unclear what the future holds for the former Yale Bulldog.
