Harper and the Pelicans agreed Monday on a one-year, two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
New Orleans hasn't announced a corresponding roster move, but the team will either have to release one of its two existing two-way players -- Jose Alvarado and Daulton Hommes (lower leg) or sign one of the two to a standard contract in order to clear room for Harper. A 24-year-old point guard, Harper earned his two-way deal after averaging 21.3 points (on 47.3 percent shooting from the field), 6.9 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 three-pointers in 33.1 minutes over 12 appearances for the Pelicans' G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.
