Brooks (toe) is expected to be out for four months, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports. The sophomore underwent surgery last week and is beginning rehab activities. He's expected to be back in four months, but Brooks won't be able to do any weight-bearing activities for one month. On a positive note, he should be healthy around late-May, allowing him to prepare for next season.
Brooks will undergo a procedure to address a ruptured ligament in his right big toe and he's expected to be out for the remainder of the season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Toe soreness prevented Brooks from playing Monday, and the issue is more serious than initially thought. As a result of surgery, Brooks will end his sophomore season having played 18 games, averaging 7.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in 18.3 minutes. On a positive note, the wing should be recovered in time to have a full summer of workouts in preparation for the 2019-2020 campaign. For the Grizzlies, Kyle Anderson, Justin Holiday and Garrett Temple may see upticks in workload while Brooks is on the shelf.
Brooks (toe) has been ruled out Wednesday against the Spurs. Brooks is slated to miss a second straight game as he continues to battle right toe soreness. His next chance to take the court will come Saturday against the Heat. In the meantime, Justin Holiday is a candidate to see an uptick in minutes with Brooks sidelined.
Brooks (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pelicans, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports. As expected, Brooks will miss Monday's game after picking up a toe injury in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies. He's apparently wearing a precautionary walking boot and is considered day-to-day, with his next chance to play coming Wednesday against the Spurs. Newly acquired Justin Holiday could benefit from increased minutes with Brooks unavailable.
Brooks is doubtful for Monday's game against the Pelicans due to right toe soreness. Brooks picked up an injury during Saturday night's contest against the Spurs, and he'll likely miss at least one game until returning to the court. Expect confirmation on his status closer to tipoff, but if he's held out as expect, Jevon Carter (knee) and Shelvin Mack could see an uptick in minutes off the bench.
