Brooks exploded for 36 points (14-22 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 137-123 loss to the Thunder. Brooks finished with a career high in scoring in the season finale, and heads into the offseason on a high note after scoring 15-plus points in each of the final four games. The 22-year-old rookie wing was among the few bright spots for the Grizzlies in an otherwise awful year.
Brooks tallied 16 points (4-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six assists, three rebounds and one steal across 35 minutes in Friday's 94-93 loss to the Kings. With the help of some solid three-point shooting and a decent showing from the charity stripe, Brooks found his way to his fourth double-digit scoring effort in the last five games. The rookie has seen some scoring fluctuations recently, but been a largely reliable source of offense for the majority of the latter half of the season. Given the Grizzlies' need to develop young players, he should continue seeing plenty of minutes for the final three games of the season.
Brooks finished with 28 points (11-26 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 37 minutes during Sunday's 113-98 loss to the Trail Blazers. Brooks poured in a game-high 28 points Sunday, continuing his strong recent play. He has demonstrated the ability to score the ball on a bad team, while also adding in some rebounds and steals. The Grizzlies have nothing to play for over the next couple of weeks and if you need scoring, there are worse players to own.
Brooks recorded 17 points (6-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds an assist and a steal in 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-80 loss to the Mavericks. While Brooks will almost assuredly be part of Memphis'rebuilding project, his promising play this season has essentially gone to waste. The Grizzlies have now lost 17 straight, and the team has all but thrown in the towel. They are riddled with injuries, and somehow Brooks has managed to not end up on the injury report, which is definitely the exception and not the rule. Brooks should definitely be looked at in keeper and dynasty leagues, but aside from a spot DFS play he has little value as the season wanes.
Brooks scored 21 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while adding four rebounds and an assist in 35 minutes during Monday's 100-98 loss to the Spurs. It's just the second time this season the rookie has scored 20 or more points. Brooks hasn't been able to take advantage of the opportunities available while Tyreke Evans (ribs) is sidelined, averaging only 10.7 points, 2.8 boards, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals over 31.8 minutes in the last six games without the Grizzlies' leading scorer in the lineup. At this stage of his career, consider Brooks nothing more than a DFS tournament lottery ticket for fantasy purposes.
