Top Dillon Brooks News

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Keeps head down in loss

Brooks produced 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across 33 minutes during Saturday's 107-97 loss to the Lakers.

Brooks' beef with LeBron James is well-documented, but a brutal stare-down from James after a made bucket was the only evidence of the conflict during Saturday's game. Brooks continues to deal with nagging injuries, and although he's put up a few good totals, he's far from consistent. His 13.2 points per game is on pace to be his second-worst career point total despite converting a career-best 47.9 percent of his shots.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Cleared Tuesday

Brooks (groin/hip) will play Tuesday against Dallas.

Brooks is battling left adductor tendinopathy, but he will continue his perfect attendance this season. The 27-year-old will make his 15th start of the season and is averaging 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game with a 47.1/46.4/85.7 shooting slash.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Dealing with adductor injury

Brooks is probable for Tuesday's matchup versus Dallas due to left adductor tendinopathy.

Brooks has yet to miss a game this season, and that likely won't change Tuesday. However, Tuesday's contest is the front half of a back-to-back set, so it's possible Brooks will play versus Dallas before taking a seat for Wednesday's matchup versus Denver. Brooks is one of four players listed as probable on Houston's initial injury report.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Struggles in victory Friday

Brooks chipped in eight points (2-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and two assists over 30 minutes during Friday's 105-86 win over the Nuggets.

Brooks shot under 30 percent from the floor for the second straight game, continuing his recent offensive struggles. Outside of two games during which he scored a total of 40 points, he has not been able to get anything going in the scoring column. He is barely inside the top 150 this season and, at this point, can probably be dropped to open up a streaming spot.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Struggles from deep

Brooks contributed 13 points (4-14 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 111-91 win over the Grizzlies.

Brooks struggled from the field, especially from deep, but scored in double figures for the fifth time over his past six games. During that stretch, he's averaged 12.8 points on 40.3 percent shooting from the field. On the season, Brooks is still shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 45.3 percent from deep, which would both be career-high marks, but his shooting splits have started to regress back to the mean in recent games.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Shines against LAL

Brooks closed with 24 points (9-21 FG, 6-11 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and four steals across 41 minutes during Sunday's 105-104 loss to the Lakers.

Brooks came two points shy of tying his season-high scoring mark and drained a season-best six threes, but his efforts were not enough to carry the Rockets to victory against LeBron James and the Lakers. This outing might be a sparkplug for Brooks, as he was coming off five straight outings with 10 or fewer points before this strong showing against Los Angeles.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Cooling down after fast start

Brooks produced 10 points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes during Sunday's 107-104 win over Denver.

Brooks was on fire to start his first season in Houston, averaging 17.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 35.0 minutes per game. However, over his last four games, he's averaged just 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25.8 minutes. Regardless, the defensive-minded wing is still playing a key role for a Rockets squad that's been a major surprise this season.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Excellent against Sacramento

Brooks finished Saturday's 107-89 victory over Sacramento with 26 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 38 minutes.

Brooks notched his best performance of the season and was dominant in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter, where he scored 11 of his 16 points. Brooks is known for his defensive tenacity, but he's been a lethal shooter for the Rockets in the early stages of the campaign, draining multiple threes in all but one of his outings and hitting 12 of his 20 attempts from beyond the arc. That pace is unsustainable, but if he can hover around the 18-point range, he'd be a strong fantasy asset in most formats due to his contributions in other categories.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Does it all in win

Brooks contributed 20 points (7-9 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, five assists and five steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 128-119 win over the Hornets.

Although Brooks committed seven turnovers Wednesday, he looks rejuvenated in Houston. His confident scoring combined with moderate volume is yielding effective offense, which is notable given Brooks' reputation as an inefficient self-creator. The 27-year-old is shooting 58.8 percent at the rim through four games as well, marking a leap from his 51.2 percent shooting at the rim last season.

  • Rockets' Dillon Brooks: Efficient performance in loss

Brooks finished with 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 116-86 loss to the Magic.

Brooks is not known for being an efficient shooter, and his weaknesses were in full display during the 2022-23 postseason, but that was not the case in this season opener, as he missed just two shots from the field. Despite the solid output in this season opener, Brooks projects to be little more than the fourth option for the Rockets on offense, behind Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet and Jabari Smith.
