The Lakers waived Knecht on Monday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

The writing appeared to be on the wall once head coach JJ Redick told reporters Monday that Knecht was excused from practice with an illness. A first-round pick just two years ago, Knecht shouldn't take long to catch on with another NBA club.
