Blake Martinez: Joins Carolina after workout

Martinez signed with the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, Augusta Stone of the team's official site reports.

Martinez worked out with the team in late October and showed enough to earn an opportunity, as Carolina's linebacker corps is dealing with several injuries. The veteran linebacker appeared in four games with the Raiders last season, recording 20 tackles, before announcing a now-temporary retirement.
