Defensive coordinator Ed Donatell said Thursday that he's optimistic about the chances of Chubb (knee) being ready to go for Week 1, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
Chubb is by all accounts recovering well from the partially torn ACL he sustained Week 4 last season, and he's already resumed running without issue. It still looks as though the star pass rusher is on track to participate in training camp activities, which would in turn bode well for his odds of kicking off the regular season without significant restrictions. Chubb notched 12 sacks as a rookie in 2018, but he only managed to take down opposing quarterbacks once across four appearances in 2019.
