The Falcons are waiving Etheridge (knee) with an injury designation Tuesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Etheridge was carted off with an apparent knee injury during Saturday's preseason finale against Jacksonville. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert to Atlanta's injured reserve.
