Panthers' Troy Pride: Placed on IR

Pride (knee) reverted to the Panthers' injured reserve list Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Pride suffered a torn ACL and was carted off the field in Sunday's preseason opener, which will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the 2021 season. Last season, the 23-year-old cornerback recorded 42 tackles and two passes defensed across 14 games in his rookie campaign. Pride's injury could open up reps to the likes of Stantley Thomas-Oliver and A.J. Bouye (suspension) moving forward.
