Ebron (hamstring) is expected to return to action Sunday against the Lions, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Ebron was sidelined for a second straight game in Monday's 29-27 win over the Bears while he managed a hamstring injury. Though coach Mike Tomlin told Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site that the tight end looked good during limited showings in practices Friday and Saturday, Pittsburgh ultimately erred on the side of caution by holding him out Monday. Though Ebron should be on track to play this weekend if his hamstring responds well to additional practice activity, he could find himself in a smaller role than he held prior to suffering the injury. Rookie Pat Freiermuth has emerged as one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets over the past two weeks, producing nine receptions for 87 yards and three touchdowns.
