The Titans have officially promoted Peterson to their active roster ahead of Sunday night's game against the Rams, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

With Derrick Henry (foot) on IR and in line to miss extended time, Peterson is slated to help fill in for for the team's injured star. He initially joined Tennessee's practice squad earlier this week and after showing well in practice, the team is prepared to have him suit up this weekend and share backfield duties with Jeremy McNichols, while Dontrell Hilliard and/or D'Onta Foreman are also candidates to be elevated from the practice squad. It remains to be seen how much volume the 36-year-old Peterson will see in his season debut, but he should garner enough early-down work in tandem with McNichols to help those scrambling for running back options in Week 9.
