Richardson signed a contract with the Colts on Tuesday, Mike Chappell of CBS 4 Indy reports. Richardson, a career journeyman, appeared in three games for the Steelers last season but only carried twice for seven yards. He'll compete with Josh Ferguson and Troymaine Pope for a potential No. 4 RB gig in Indianapolis.
Richardson was waived by Jacksonville on Monday, the team's official site reports. Richardson has bounced around plenty during his small NFL tenure so he could find a new home relatively soon depending on fit. His best season came back in 2012 when he rushed for 475 yards for the Rams.
Richardson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 17 tilt versus the Colts, the team's official site reports. Richardson was just claimed earlier in the week by the Jags after his release from the Steelers, with which he'd spent the entirety of the season.
The Jaguars claimed Richardson of waivers Monday. Released by the Steelers in advance of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Richardson was subject to the NFL's claiming process. With the Jaguars, he could make an impact in a backfield dealing with multiple injuries, including T.J. Yeldon, who was placed on IR on Monday due to an ankle injury.
Richardson has been released by the Steelers. Richardson has been inactive of late and with the return to health of fellow RB DeAngelo Williams, he's the odd man out heading into Week 16's action.
