  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Undergoes surgery, likely done for 2026

Head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters Friday that Arroyo (shoulder) underwent surgery and will likely be out for the rest of the season, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Macdonald didn't outright rule Arroyo out for the entire 2026 campaign, leaving the possibility that the second-year tight end would be available if the Seahawks made a deep playoff run. Regardless, Arroyo will not be available for the rest of the regular season while recovering from a shoulder injury, leaving Eric Saubert and Nick Kallerup as the Seahawks' depth options at tight end behind AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Out for season, placed on IR

Arroyo (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Arroyo will miss the remainder of the season. Arroyo sustained a season-ending shoulder injury that will require surgery in last Thursday's loss to the Broncos. The 2025 second-round pick finishes his second NFL regular season with one catch for 17 yards on two targets in six games.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Extended absence confirmed

Head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed with reporters Monday that Arroyo will miss "significant time" due to a shoulder injury that he picked up during Thursday's 17-14 overtime loss to the Broncos, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. It appears the second-year tight end will not play against the Chiefs in Week 7, and a stint on injured reserve seems likely for Arroyo. He's mostly been used as an extra blocker on offense and as a contributor on special teams, but his absence means Eric Saubert and Nick Kallerup are both candidates for more snaps behind TE1 AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Appears likely to miss time

Arroyo is expected to miss time after exiting Thursday's 17-14 loss to the Broncos due to a shoulder injury, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. The Seahawks are still looking to determine the extent of Arroyo's injury, but he appears likely to be sidelined for the team's Week 7 game against the Chiefs, and a stint on injured reserve could be a possibility. The second-year tight end has handled a light role on offense through the Seahawks' first six games of the season, registering a 17-yard reception on two targets.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: One snag in victory

Arroyo caught his only target for 17 yards during Sunday's 31-7 win over Arizona. Arroyo was on the field for just 15 of the team's 70 offensive snaps, but he was at least able to secure his first catch of the year in the victory. The tight end logged 13 snaps with the special-teams unit, and at this point, he doesn't have any fantasy appeal unless something happens to AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Non-factor in Week 1 win

Arroyo wasn't targeted in Wednesday's 13-10 win over the Patriots. Arroyo was on the field for 11 of Seattle's 50 snaps on offense while AJ Barner played 44 snaps and caught two passes, suggesting there is still a substantial gap between the Seahawks' top two tight ends. After flashing some receiving upside during the preseason, it looks like Arroyo may not get enough playing time to make much of an impact on offense, at least while Barner is healthy.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Chance for larger Year 2 role

Arroyo will enter training camp as a candidate to secure an expanded role on offense with the Seahawks, Justin Melo of USA Today reports. Arroyo is expected to see more opportunities in 2026 after catching 15 passes for 179 yards and one touchdown across 13 regular-season games as a rookie. AJ Barner remains atop Seattle's depth chart, but Arroyo's athleticism gives him a path to increased usage in passing situations and two-tight end sets. Injuries limited Arroyo's involvement last season, so better health could be all the 2025 second-rounder requires to take a notable step forward.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Plays depth role in rookie season

Arroyo caught 15 of 26 targets for 179 yards and one touchdown across 13 regular-season games in 2025. The 2025 second-round pick from Miami operated as Seattle's No. 2 tight end for most of the season but missed the team's final four regular-season games due to a knee injury. Arroyo's offensive role diminished as the season progressed. He caught 11 of 17 targets for 140 yards over his first seven games but totaled 39 yards and a touchdown on four receptions (nine targets) during his final six regular-season contests. Despite this late-season dip in production, the 22-year-old is expected to compete for a larger offensive role this offseason.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Activated Friday

Arroyo (knee) was activated from IR on Friday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Arroyo has been sidelined for the Seahawks' last five contests due to a knee injury sustained in Week 14, but it now appears he's ready to return for the NFC Championship game against the Rams. The 2025 second-round pick from Miami has had a solid rookie campaign, catching 15 of 26 targets for 179 yards and a touchdowns across 13 regular-season appearances. Now fully healthy, Arroyo is expected to operate as Seattle's No. 2 tight end Sunday, playing behind AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Logs full practice Wednesday

Arroyo (knee) was a full participant at practice Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Arroyo has been on Seattle's injured reserve list for the past five games due to a knee injury he suffered in Week 14 at Atlanta, but his activity at practice signals he could return to game action for the NFC Championship. With any limits on his reps apparently behind him, the Seahawks would just need to officially activate him from IR prior to Sunday's game versus the Rams.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Staying on IR for divisional round

Arroyo (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's NFC divisional-round game against the 49ers, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Arroyo was a full participant in all three practices this week, but he hasn't recovered quite enough from a knee injury to be activated from injured reserve. The rookie second-rounder's next chance to play would be in the NFC Championship Game if the Seahawks emerge victorious Saturday.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Practicing in full

Arroyo (knee), who remains on IR, was a full participant at practice Tuesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Arroyo had his 21-day practice window opened last Wednesday, and by all accounts he appears healthy enough to play in Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the 49ers. In order for the rookie second-round pick to take the field versus San Francisco, though, Seattle will first have to officially activate him from IR.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Practice window opens

The Seahawks announced Wednesday that Arroyo (knee) has been designated to return to practice from IR, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Arroyo will have a 21-day window wherein he can practice without counting against the active roster. If deemed healthy, the rookie second-round pick can be activated to the 53-man roster and return to action at any point in that span. Seattle has secured a bye in the first week of the NFC playoffs, meaning Arroyo's next chance to play will come in the divisional round.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Ruled out to face Colts

Arroyo (knee) is ruled out for Sunday's game against Indianapolis, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Arroyo will miss at least one game due to the knee injury he suffered Week 14 against Atlanta. With the rookie second-round pick sidelined, Nick Kallerup will stand to operate as the No. 2 tight end behind AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: No practice to begin week

Arroyo (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Corbin K. Smith of SI.com reports. Arroyo suffered the knee injury in Sunday's blowout win over Atlanta, and head coach Mike McDonald has since expressed skepticism that Arroyo would be able to play in Week 15 against the Colts. His inability to suit up at all Wednesday isn't a promising start, but he'll have two additional days to increase his participation.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Status for Week 15 uncertain

Arroyo (knee) may miss Sunday's contest against the Colts, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Arroyo was forced out of the team's 37-9 win over the Falcons in Week 14 due to a knee injury, and head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that "this week's probably in jeopardy," for the tight end. If Arroyo is sidelined for Week 15, Nick Kallerup would stand to operate as the team's No. 2 tight end against Indianapolis.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Additional testing upcoming

Arroyo (knee) will undergo more imaging in the near future to determine the severity of his injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Arroyo suffered a knee injury in the first half of the team's victory, ultimately failing to return to action. The rookie could be set to miss action moving forward, and if that's the case, Nick Kallerup would be a top candidate to operate as the top reserve option at tight end behind AJ Barner.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Exits with knee injury

Arroyo (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons. Arroyo is being evaluated by medical staff to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. Nick Kallerup is poised to see more snaps on offense as the Seahawks' TE2 behind AJ Barner for as long as Arroyo is out of the game.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Quiet in win

Arroyo caught one pass for five yards in Sunday's 30-24 win over the Titans. Arroyo played just 18 offensive snaps (38 percent), his lowest total since the season opener. The Seahawks' offense was quite efficient and didn't spend a ton of time on the field, but it will be difficult to trust Arroyo in nearly any fantasy setting considering he has just 15 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown through 11 games.

  • Seahawks' Elijah Arroyo: Scores first TD

Arroyo caught two passes on two targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-14 win over the Commanders. Arroyo notched his first career touchdown on a 26-yard pass in the second quarter. Despite the blowout, the starters played nearly the entire game, and Arroyo played just 22 of 51 offensive snaps (43 percent), which has his standard workload this season with AJ Barner handling a nearly every-down role. Arroyo's touchdown provided an intriguing flash of athleticism and upside, but he'll be tough to depend on until he secures an increased role.
