Buchnevich registered an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche.
After being traded from the Rangers to the Blues in the offseason, Buchnevich needed just one game to open his point account with his new team. The Russian winger had the secondary assist on Brayden Schenn's second-period marker. That duo, with Jordan Kyrou, composed the Blues' second line in the season opener. Buchnevich has topped 40 points in three of his five NHL seasons, so he's very clearly a top-six option who can add a solid shot volume and some physicality. He put up a career-best 48 points with 120 shots and 49 hits in 54 outings last year.
