Brown was demoted to AHL Providence on Saturday.
Brown stayed with Boston after clearing waivers Nov. 18 prior to being sent down Saturday. He played twice this week, picking up one assist, but it wasn't enough to keep him with the big club. Brown has one point, five shots on goal and 14 hits in eight NHL outings this season.
