Canadiens' Karl Alzner: Opts out of 2019-20 season

Alzner has opted out of the Return to Play program, Frank Seravalli of TSN.ca reports.

Alzner didn't log any points across four games with Montreal during the regular season, having spent the bulk of the campaign in the minors. The Canadiens will now have to do without the veteran defenseman when the 2019-20 season resumes, though he wasn't expected to see an important role with the restart.
