Carr was recalled from the taxi squad to the active roster Wednesday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
The Capitals are on the road against the Rangers on Wednesday, but it's currently unclear if Carr will suit up or be a healthy scratch. He's played in four NHL games this year and hasn't played since April 8.
