Samsonov posted a 34-save shutout in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Kings.
Samsonov and Jonathan Quick engaged in a goaltending duel for much of the contest until Garnet Hathaway gave the Capitals a lead. This was Samsonov's second shutout of the year in just his seventh appearance. He's posted a 5-0-1 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage. The Capitals have another back-to-back over the weekend as they end their road trip with games in San Jose on Saturday and Seattle on Sunday. Expect Samsonov and Vitek Vanecek to split those games.
