Wideman penned a one-year deal with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (KHL) on Monday.

Wideman spent the entirety of the 2019-20 campaign playing for AHL San Diego, for which he tallied nine goals and 22 helpers in 53 outings. The Miami University product was selected by the Senators in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Draft and went on to log 181 games in the league for Ottawa, Edmonton and Florida. This likely marks the end of the 30-year-old veteran's NHL career, which means he'll eventually retire having scored 16 goals and 29 helpers along the way.
