Johnson was placed on waivers Monday in order to reassign him to AHL Manitoba.
Johnson -- who was selected by the Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft -- has 32 games of NHL experience for the Blackhawks and Wild in which he tallied one goal, one assist and 66 hits while averaging 10:34 of ice time. Johnson is unlikely to offer much in the way of fantasy value this year considering he figures to spend the bulk of his time in the minors.
