Jonathan Ang: Waived unconditionally

The Panthers placed Ang on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract Friday, Carter Baum of the Blackhawks' official site reports.

Ang was decent in the minors last season, picking up 21 points in 49 games with AHL Springfield, but he may have requested to have his contract terminated in order to explore more lucrative opportunities overseas.
