The Lightning acquired Richard from Nashville in exchange for Jimmy Huntington on Tuesday.
Richard has appeared in two career NHL games but hasn't seen any action at the top level since the 2019-20 campaign. He's spent the entire season with AHL Milwaukee after being waived in October. He's scored 12 points in 31 games and will now likely head to AHL Syracuse.
