Nikita Gusev: Released from tryout

Gusev was released from his professional tryout with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

Gusev signed a tryout deal before training camp, but he wasn't able to turn it into a contract with the organization. He's now a free agent, but it's unclear if he'll latch on somewhere else in North America or head to his native Russia to play in the KHL.
