Sam Gagner: Cut loose from PTO

Carolina released Gagner on Sunday from his professional tryout agreement, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.

Gagner chipped in five goals and five assists in 28 games with Edmonton during the 2023-24 regular season. There isn't much time left before the 2024-25 campaign begins for most teams, so he may have to settle for an AHL contract before aiming for a two-way agreement.
