  • Senators' Samuel Ersson: Drawing start against Detroit

Ersson is starting Tuesday's road game against the Red Wings, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.

Ersson replaced Linus Ullmark (undisclosed) in the third period of Monday's 4-1 victory over the Bruins and allowed a goal on nine shots. Ullmark won't dress for the second half of the back-to-back set, so Ersson will make his first start of the season Tuesday, while Jonas Johansson will operate as the backup. Ersson made 33 regular-season appearances for Philadelphia last year, going 14-11-5 with a 3.12 GAA and .870 save percentage.

  • Senators' Linus Ullmark: Shelved for Tuesday's clash

Ullmark (undisclosed) will not play in Tuesday's road clash against Detroit, per Jackson Starr of the Senators' official site.

With the call-up of Jonas Johansson Tuesday afternoon, Ullmark's absence Tuesday was expected. The 33-year-old netminder left Monday's 4-1 win over the Bruins after he was involved in a collision with winger JJ Peterka. However, head coach Travis Green mentioned that Ullmark is doing fine, so he likely avoided a long-term injury. The veteran backstop is off to a strong start in the 2026-27 campaign, where he has compiled a 2-0-0 record, a 1.20 GAA and a .949 save percentage across 39 shots on net between two appearances. In Ullmark's absence, Samuel Ersson will make his first regular-season start with the Senators.

  • Panthers' Jacob Markstrom: Tending twine Tuesday

Markstrom will defend the road net against the Kings on Tuesday.

Markstrom has stopped 33 of 36 shots en route to a 1-0-1 start to the 2026-27 campaign. He is coming off an 18-save effort in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to Anaheim. The Kings (0-1-1) have scored eight goals in two games this campaign.

  • Senators' Jonas Johansson: Called up to majors

Johansson was recalled from AHL Belleville on Tuesday.

Johansson will head back to Ottawa following the injury to Linus Ullmark (undisclosed), who left Monday's contest before the start of the third period. The 31-year-old Johansson was dealt to the Senators on Sept. 25 from Tampa Bay. It remains to be seen if Ullmark will miss an extended period of time, but Johansson's move to the majors indicates that he will likely back up Samuel Ersson Tuesday.

  • Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Back in action Tuesday

Kuemper will guard the home crease in Tuesday's clash against the Panthers, per Alexander Legget.

Kuemper will look to bounce back in a big way Tuesday after he struggled in the Kings' opener Wednesday. The 26-year-old netminder struggled, allowing eight goals across 29 shots on net in the 8-4 loss to Colorado. Backup netminder Anton Forsberg also struggled in his first appearance, where he allowed five goals to the Sharks, so both he and Kuemper have a lot of work to do to get the Kings on the right track. Kuemper will operate as the lead option between the pipes for the time being and will face off against a deep Panthers' lineup Tuesday, which should pose a good challenge. He should only be started in deep fantasy leagues until he reclaims his old form.

  • Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Starting home opener

Knight will patrol the home crease against St. Louis on Tuesday, Lou Korac of The Hockey News reports.

Knight has gone 0-2-0 to begin the 2026-27 campaign, allowing eight goals on 64 shots. St. Louis (1-1-0) has scored five goals in two games this year. During the 2025-26 regular season, Knight went 1-1-0 and allowed six goals on 56 shots in two outings against St. Louis.

  • Joel Hofer G | STL

Blues' Joel Hofer: Between pipes against Chicago

Hofer will start Tuesday's road game against Chicago, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Hofer will draw his second start in the Blues' first three games of the regular season Tuesday. He posted a shutout during his Opening Night start in Dallas on Friday, turning aside all 25 shots he saw during a 4-0 victory. Across three starts against the Blackhawks last year, Hofer went 2-1-0 with a 4.29 GAA and .859 save percentage.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Drawing start against Islanders

Shesterkin will start Tuesday's home game against the Islanders, Jim Cerny of NHL.com reports.

Shesterkin will tend the twine for the fourth time over the first five games of the regular season. Across his previous three starts, he went 2-1-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .935 save percentage. The 30-year-old made one start against the Islanders last year, which came on the road, and he allowed a goal on 25 shots during a 2-0 loss.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: First goalie off Tuesday

Vejmelka was the first goalie off during Tuesday's morning skate, Cole Bagley of KSL Sports reports, indicating that he'll draw the road start against the Devils.

Vejmelka will draw his third start in Utah's first four games of the regular season. Across his first two starts, he's gone 1-1-0 with a 1.51 GAA and .917 save percentage. He made a pair of starts against New Jersey last year -- one at home and one on the road -- and went 0-2-0 with a 3.06 GAA and .885 save percentage during those outings.

  • Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Starting in ECF rematch

Bussi will defend the road crease in Tuesday's clash with the Canadiens, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

While he didn't make an appearance in the 2025-26 Eastern Conference Finals, Bussi will look to help the Hurricanes stay one step ahead of the Canadiens in Tuesday's matchup. The 28-year-old netminder is off to an up-and-down start to the 2026-27 campaign, where he has a 0-1-1 record, a 2.88 GAA and an .872 save percentage across two appearances. While his opponent for Tuesday isn't set to make his outlook any easier, he's still a solid start in fantasy for the time being.
