  • Dominik Shine RW | DET

Red Wings' Dominik Shine: Tallies twice for Griffins

Shine scored two goals in AHL Grand Rapids' 5-2 win over Iowa on Wednesday.

Shine's up to 13 goals and 23 points in 20 games this season. He's been steady lately with three goals and three helpers over his last five outings. John Leonard was the most recent Griffins forward to get the call-up to the NHL, and Shine might follow if the Red Wings' injury issues worsen.

  • Lightning's Maxim Groshev: Three points in AHL win

Groshev scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Syracuse's 5-0 win over Bridgeport on Wednesday.

Groshev had gone four games without a point and 14 contests without a multi-point effort. The defenseman is now at one goal and 11 points, along with a plus-9 rating, over 25 appearances this season. He's also received a couple of call-ups to the Lightning amid the parent club's ongoing injury concerns on the blue line, but he has yet to make his NHL debut.

  • Ryan Fanti G | EDM

Lightning's Ryan Fanti: Collects shutout Wednesday

Fanti posted an 18-save shutout in AHL Syracuse's 5-0 win over Bridgeport on Wednesday.

Fanti's shutout was the second of his career in the AHL. The goalie lost six straight games (0-5-1) between Nov. 7 and Dec. 10, but he's since won two in a row. He's now 6-5-1 with a 2.34 GAA and a .907 save percentage in 12 games this year for the Crunch.

  • Panthers' Evan Rodrigues: Dealing with lower-body injury

Rodrigues sustained a lower-body injury in the third period of Wednesday's game versus the Kings, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.

Rodrigues had to leave the game, and no further update beyond the nature of his injury was provided. Head coach Paul Maurice didn't believe the injury would be significant, but Rodrigues will be evaluated Thursday. His status for Friday versus the Hurricanes is up in the air.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Exits Wednesday's contest

Marchessault sustained a lower-body injury in Wednesday's game versus the Hurricanes.

Marchessault was ruled out for the remainder of the game prior to the third period. The exact nature and severity of his injury are unknown at this time. He'll be considered day-to-day leading up to Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs, pending further information from the team.

  • Alex Huang D | NSH

Predators' Alex Huang: Produces four assists

Huang logged four assists in QMJHL Chicoutimi's 9-1 win over Rimouski on Wednesday.

Huang has been doing plenty of playmaking from the blue line this year. His performance Wednesday gave him 30 assists on the year, just two shy of matching his total from the 2024-25 regular season. He's at 32 points this season, with 12 of his helpers coming in his last seven outings.

  • Hurricanes' Jordan Martinook: Sustains lower-body injury

Martinook (lower body) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Predators.

Martinook's injury wasn't initially obvious, but it's apparently enough to keep him out of at least the rest of this contest. Should he miss additional time, Jesperi Kotkaniemi would likely reenter the lineup in a bottom-six role. The Hurricanes' next game is Friday versus the Panthers in the first half of a back-to-back.

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

Devils' Jake Allen: Starting in Vegas

Allen will protect the road goal versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen won his last outing, posting 30 saves on 31 shots in a 4-1 win over the Ducks on Saturday. He's allowed 14 goals over his last four outings, but he's still gotten a decent share of playing time because Jacob Markstrom has also struggled. The Golden Knights will be missing Jack Eichel (illness) and Shea Theodore (upper body), which takes a little bit of punch out of the opposing lineup.

  • Juuse Saros G | NSH

Predators' Juuse Saros: Starting in goal Wednesday

Saros will protect the home goal versus the Hurricanes on Wednesday.

Saros is on a heater, winning six of his last seven outings while allowing 18 goals on 214 shots in that span (.916 save percentage). The 30-year-old will likely face a lot of pucks Wednesday, as the Hurricanes are averaging 33.0 shots per game this season while scoring 3.25 goals per game.

  • Mammoth's Karel Vejmelka: Tending twine in Detroit

Vejmelka will protect the road goal versus the Red Wings on Wednesday.

Vejmelka has won his last two starts, but he's allowed 14 goals over his last four games. The 29-year-old netminder has been a good source of wins with 14 in 26 appearances this season. He has a tough matchup Wednesday, as the Red Wings have scored 20 goals while going 5-1-0 over their last six games.
