Justin Kirkland LW | CGY
Flames' Justin Kirkland: Brought up from minors
Kirkland was recalled from AHL Calgary on Thursday.
Kirkland will give the Flames an emergency depth option at forward ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Kraken. While the 29-year-old winger is unlikely to suit up, it would only take one last-minute injury or illness for the Winnipeg native to be pressed into service.

Kevin Lankinen G | VAN
Canucks' Kevin Lankinen: Expected starter for Saturday
Lankinen is expected to start on the road against Boston on Saturday, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic.
Thatcher Demko is set to start in Friday's road game against the Islanders, so Lankinen is manning the second half of the back-to-back. The 30-year-old Lankinen has a 4-10-3 record, 3.49 GAA and .878 save percentage in 17 appearances this year. He hasn't faced the Bruins this season, but he earned a 33-save shutout victory over Boston during the 2024-25 regular season.

Thatcher Demko G | VAN
Canucks' Thatcher Demko: Set to start Friday
Demko is slated to start Friday's road game against the Islanders, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Demko is coming off a shutout win over the Rangers on Tuesday, and he'll draw a fourth consecutive start Friday. Over his three starts since returning from a lower-body injury, Demko has gone 2-1-0 with a 1.35 GAA and .938 save percentage.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Starting in San Jose
Oettinger will protect the visiting cage in San Jose on Thursday, per Max Miller of NHL.com.
Oettinger will look to get back in the win column after losing his last two starts. Oettinger is 14-6-2 with a 2.54 GAA and a .907 save percentage and has actually been outplayed by backup Casey DeSmith this season, with both netminders having good stats. Oettinger will face the Sharks, who are generating 2.97 goals per game this season, tied for 18th in the NHL.

Ben Jones C | MIN
Wild's Ben Jones: On waivers
Jones was put on waivers by Minnesota on Thursday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Jones has no points, 15 shots and 47 hits in 19 appearances with the Wild this season. Normally, players put on waivers are reassigned to the minors if they go unclaimed, but that won't immediately happen in this case. Jones is still expected to remain with the team and play Thursday in Columbus, per Michael Russo of The Athletic. However, Jones clearing waivers gives the Wild the flexibility to send him to the minors later should they need to free a roster spot. Minnesota currently has Jonas Brodin (lower body), Vinnie Hinostroza (lower body), Daemon Hunt (undisclosed), Jake Middleton (upper body) and Mats Zuccarello (upper body) all on injured reserve.

John Leonard LW | DET
Red Wings' John Leonard: Draws power-play helper
Leonard logged a power-play assist in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Mammoth.
Leonard has been on the second line in the last two games, taking over for Patrick Kane (undisclosed). Wednesday saw Leonard also work on the second power-play unit, though he saw just 12:08 of ice time in total. The 27-year-old forward was on fire in the AHL with 29 points in 20 games prior to his call-up, and he could stick in the NHL if he can contribute regularly on offense for the Red Wings.

Emmitt Finnie C | DET
Red Wings' Emmitt Finnie: Nets lone goal in loss
Finnie scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Mammoth.
Finnie has two goals on six shots over his last three games. He's been seeing time on the top line at even strength and on the second power-play unit, which has been a decent source of offense for him lately. Five of his last eight points have come with the man advantage. Finnie is up to eight goals, 16 points (six on the power play), 64 shots on net, 60 hits, 23 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 35 appearances.

Dryden Hunt LW | CGY
Flames' Dryden Hunt: Waived by Calgary
Hunt was placed on waivers by the Flames on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Hunt was recalled by the Flames on Friday, but he didn't appear in any games during his time with the NHL club. He'll presumably report to AHL Calgary if he clears waivers, and he should see more consistent playing time in the minors.

Egor Zamula D | PHI
Flyers' Egor Zamula: Waived by team
Zamula was placed on waivers by the Flyers on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Zamula has featured in just five of Philadelphia's last 20 games, so it shouldn't come as a shock to see the team trying to move him to the minors -- assuming he clears. Even when the 25-year-old blueliner has played, he's failed to offer much in the way of productivity, generating one point, 15 blocks and nine shots.

Jack McBain C | UTA
Mammoth's Jack McBain: Lights lamp Wednesday
McBain scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
McBain's tally at 14:17 of the second period stood as the game-winner. The center has scored twice in his last five contests, doubling his goal total for the year to four in 36 outings. He's added six helpers, 46 shots on net, 32 PIM, 29 blocked shots and 115 hits. McBain will likely continue to see third-line minutes.
