  • Maple Leafs' Kirill Marchenko: Scores in return to Columbus

Marchenko scored a power-play goal in 6-2 win over Columbus on Tuesday.

It was Marchenko's first game back in Columbus after his Sept. 28 trade to Toronto. He is on a modest two-game, two-point streak (one goal, one assist; four shots) and has 11 points (five goals, six assists; 29 shots) in 11 games in his new uniform. At this rate, Marchenko will raise the bar with a new career high. The season is still young, but his 31-goal, 74-point high water mark (2024-25) is well within reach.

  • Connor Brown RW | NJ

Devils' Connor Brown: Assist in season debut

Brown (lower body) had an assist in 13:54 of ice time in his season debut Tuesday in New Jersey's 4-3 win over Colorado.

Brown was injured during training camp on Sept. 28. He has some offensive upside -- he did tie his career mark for points (43) last season. But the Devils will ease Brown back into the lineup; right now, he's on the fourth line, and that will stick for another week or so to see if he can perform well enough to slide up the ranks.

  • Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: Three-game goal streak

Gritsyuk scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 win over Colorado.

Gritsyuk picked up the puck in the neutral zone, skated over the blue line and split the D before going to his backhand to put the Devils up 3-1. It was a SportsCenter moment for sure -- his teammates went bananas on the bench watching him dance through Cale Makar and Devon Toews on the Avs blue line. It's that talent that makes Gritsyuk fantasy worthy -- he is on a three-game goal streak (three goals, one assist) and has six points, including four goals, in his last six games.

  • Devils' Declan Chisholm: Rare goal in win

Chisholm scored his first goal of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche. He had two shots, two blocks and one hit.

Chisholm's point shot deflected off Avs' forward Brock Nelson in the slot and sailed past Scott Wedgewood in the second period. It was a nice effort by the journeyman, who skated into this season with just 134 NHL games spread over four years. His last goal came Jan. 29, 2026, and he has just seven goals and 30 points in his career. Don't expect big offense from Chisholm, and he doesn't really bring home support in hits, blocks or shots either. Enjoy it as a one-off and nothing more .

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

Devils' Jake Allen: Game not in doubt until it was

Allen made 31 saves in a 4-3 win over Colorado on Tuesday. It was his second straight start.

It was a big, yet bizarre night for Allen. He was honored prior to the game for playing in 500 NHL games. And he was especially sharp in the third period when he made 13 saves. The game never really felt in doubt until it did, when the Avs suddenly poured kerosene onto the fire in the last four minutes of the game and potted two goals to make it seem close. Allen went toe-to-toe with the Avs stars and emerged victorious. He's 4-2-0 with three wins in his last four starts. But he has also allowed four or more goals in half of his six starts. And Allen's 3.15 GAA and .883 save percentage both sit below the current NHL averages (2.91 GAA and .892 save percentage). It's still early, but he put in an above average performance last season. We're watching this closely.

  • Blues' Dylan Peterson: Bumped to AHL

Peterson was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Tuesday.

Peterson was a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Jets. During this call-up, he made three appearances, logging one shot on goal, five PIM and nine hits. He'll be in the mix for a recall if the Blues need to add a little toughness later in the year.

  • Avalanche's Gabriel Landeskog: Four points in last five games

Landeskog scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 loss to the Devils.

Landy has four points (three goals, one helper) in his last five games. but he's still seeking his first multi-point night this season. Last year, Landeskog managed just 35 points (14 goals, 21 assists) in 60 games, but that's still a strong finish for a man who had just a difficult knee surgery and missed three full seasons. It's hard to get your rhythm back with that kid of absence.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Allows three goals in loss

Wedgewood made 37 saves in a 4-3 loss to the Devils on Tuesday.

He allowed three goals. Wedgewood was pulled for an extra attacker around the three-quarter mark of the third before the Devils popped in the eventual winner. His teammates roared back with two quick goals in the last three-plus minutes to make the score look closer than the game actually was. Wedgewood looked sharp, especially with the heavy volume of shots. But he's still clearly the backup with Mackenzie Blackwood getting the majority of starts. Wedgewood remains a decent option in dailies when he does slot into the paint -- he has a 1-1-1 record with a 2.65 GAA and sharp .912 save percentage.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Two assists but no goals in five games

Makar set up two goals in a 4-3 loss to New Jersey on Tuesday.

He fired three shots and blocked four. Makar has two, two-point games in his last three contests, but he hasn't potted a goal in five contests. That wouldn't be noteworthy, per se, if he was your standard NHL QB. But Makar has 50 goals in his last two seasons and 71 across his last three. And two 90-plus point campaigns in that span. He'll bounce back up, but there may be a slight reduction in his output short term -- being a new dad is hard enough, but being the dad of twins born last Wednesday is enough to upset the cadence of game days and sleep cycles.

  • Avalanche's Artturi Lehkonen: Sits tied for second in league in goals

Lehkonen scored two goals on two shots in a 4-3 loss to the Devils on Tueday.

Don't look now, but Lehkonen is tied for second in the NHL in goals with eight (10 games). He also has three assists. And his point streak stands at five games and seven points (five goals, two helpers). But there's a but with Lehkonen that impacts his game on the ice and your trust in him. He has skated in one full season and that's it, and 2018-19 is a long time ago. Still, Lehkonen is worth the gamble because he hops the boards with the Avs' top line at 5v5 and works alongside Martin Necas and Gabriel Landeskog on the second power-play unit.
