Missouri sports betting preview

One of the state's most beloved teams is the Kansas City Chiefs. The defending AFC champions have struggled mightily this season, but still have an outside shot at a playoff spot. The Chiefs have made the postseason in each of the past 10 years and in 11 of the past 12. Kansas City has experienced unprecedented success under Coach Andy Reid. Since he took over in 2013, the Chiefs have won three Super Bowl championships and 18 playoff games.

Another successful football program is at the University of Missouri. In his sixth season at the school, Coach Eli Drinkwitz has done nothing but win, compiling a 46-28 record, which includes qualifying for six consecutive bowl games. The Tigers have won two of the four that were played, including last year's 27-24 win over Iowa at the Music City Bowl. This year, Missouri is headed to the Gator Bowl against Virginia. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 27.

The Missouri State Bears are another team headed to a bowl game. Although they are new to FBS, the NCAA will allow them to play in a bowl in an effort to fill the available bowls. Originally, the Bears weren't going to be allowed to as they transitioned into the division.
