RBC Canadian Open DFS Lineup
- By Mike McClure
SportsLine is recommending a complete fade of Dustin Johnson in DFS contests at Glen Abbey. The price point is simply too high given the recent form of the number one golfer in the world.
Credit: USATSICharley Hoffman enters with the 3rd highest SportsLine simulation win percentage, trailing only Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar who have significantly higher salaries on DraftKings and FanDuel. Hoffman is fresh off a career best T20 at the Open after a personal-best 8th place finish at the U.S. Open. Hoffman is the high-end player to own in DFS this week.
Credit: USATSIPatrick Cantlay has a great opportunity to take advantage of a weaker field this week in Canada. Cantlay has been very successful in 2017 in similar strength fields with a 2nd place finish at the Valspar, T3 at RBC Heritage and T14 at the Zurich Classic. With a 3.2% simulation win percentage, Cantlay has a very realistic chance of picking up his first PGA Tour win and returning elite value in DFS.
Credit: USATSIIan Poulter ranks as one of the top players in the tournament in recent form with two top 15 finishes in two very tough events in Scotland and Royal Birkdale. Poulter's game is an excellent fit for this course that features four par fives. Poulter is one the safest DFS options for the money this week.
Credit: USATSIAdam Hadwin struggles with consistency, but he's played well at Glen Abbey with a T7 in 2015 under similar conditions. SportsLine is projecting a top 10 finish for Hadwin with a 2.5% simulation win percentage, making him an elite betting value at 70/1.
Credit: USATSILuke List is one of our favorite course fit golfers this week at Glen Abbey. List ranks 10th in Birdie or Better percentage, 1st in Eagles and 20th in Strokes Gained Tee to Green. List is a must-play on FanDuel at just $6,000.
Credit: USATSIGary Woodland is a strong bet to make the cut and take advantage of the scoring opportunities on the four par five holes at Glen Abbey. Winning the event is unlikely, but he is a very solid option for DraftKings lineups at $7,900.
