Mariners starting pitcher Aaron Harang, who got hit hard in his previous start, bounced back with his second complete game of the season Tuesday night against the Astros.
Harang (3-6) yielded just two hits and struck out a season-high 10 in a 4-0 shutout win. It was his 15th career complete game and eighth shutout. It was also the 12th time in his career he had 10-plus strikeouts with no walks in a start.
Harang has allowed just one run or fewer in three of his last four starts. He is scheduled to make his next start Monday against the Angels in Los Angeles. He is 0-2 with a whopping 16.20 ERA in two starts against the Angels this season.
