Red Sox starting pitcher Clay Buchholz made his long-anticipated return to the mound Tuesday night in Tampa Bay. Activated off the disabled list earlier in the day, Buchholz made his first start June 8 due to a shoulder injury.

Expected to be limited to around 75 pitches, Buchholz threw 74 and Boston could not have asked for a better effort in his return. Facing off against David Price, Buchholz was the better man on this night as he went five shutout innings with just three hits allowed. He earned the win and is now 10-0 on the season with a 1.61 ERA.

Buchholz walked one batter and struck out six on the performance. The Red Sox hope Buchholz remains healthy and in the rotation for the stretch run and into the playoffs. He's scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Yankees.
