Diamondbacks pitchers Archie Bradley and Matt Stites both participated in a simulated game on Monday, the team announced.
Bradley has been recovering from a line drive he took to the face in April. Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said that Bradley actually had a liner hit back to him in the simulate game and didn't flinch, according to MLB.com.
Bradley, who has been on the 15-day disabled list, came out of the simulated game fine and will start this Saturday.
"Obviously a little scary, but didn't flinch, got right back up there and overall threw the ball well," Bradley said of the comebacker. "Arm felt good, face felt well, and just overall ready to get going again."
Stites is recovering from an elbow injury and has been on the 15-day disabled list.
