The Dodgers announced pitcher Brandon McCarthy underwent Tommy John surgery on Thursday and will have a recovery period of 14-18 months, according to the Los Angeles Times.
If it's an 18-month recovery period, that will place his return date in 2017.
McCarthy tore his UCL and was moved to the 60-day disabled list. The Dodgers called up Eury De La Rosa to take his spot.
