Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia went 2 for 4 with two runs and one RBI in his team's 8-1 win over the Cardinals in Game 1 of the World Series Wednesday.
Pedroia followed up a first-inning single and run scored with an RBI single in the second inning, though he was stranded on base after his second single. In his third at-bat, Pedroia sent one to the right-field corner but Shane Robinson, who shifted over to right field after an injury to Carlos Beltran, extended on a running catch to take away extra bases. He then grounded to third base in the seventh inning, but a throwing error got him on first base safely, and a home run by the next batter brought him around to score.
