Grapefruit League and Cactus League play began on Tuesday, and we've already seen Jung Ho Kang hit an opposite field home run and Edwin Encarnacion forget about the new pace of play rules.
But, before all that happened, Aaron Sanchez opened the day's Blue Jays-Pirates game with a little self defense. Jaff Decker hit a line drive right back at Sanchez on the mound, but luckily the Toronto right-hander was able to make the play. To the action footage:
That's not how you want to start the spring! That was literally the first batter of the first game for the Jays (and Pirates).
