Royals pitcher Luke Hochevar picked up his second save in his team's 5-1 win over the Red Sox Tuesday, giving up one earned run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings. He closed out the top of the eighth with his team up 3-0 then allowed the only Boston run of the game after the Royals tacked on two in the bottom of the eighth.
The earned run Hochevar allowed was his first since June 19, breaking a string of 16 scoreless appearances. He owns a 1.80 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 43:13 K:BB ratio in 45 innings.
