Sean Doolittle undergoes MRI on intercostal injury

Athletics closer Sean Doolittle underwent an MRI on Sunday to determine the extent of his intercostal injury, MLB.com reports.

Doolittle will miss Sunday's night action and the A's mix and match in the bullpen, but if the closer needs a stint on the disabled list, the team will settle on one closing option to fill in. Doolittle owns a 2.32 ERA and 79:5 K:BB ratio after picking up a save Saturday.
