Terry Francona will be with John Farrell during first chemo session
Red Sox manager John Farrell has lymphoma, it was revealed Friday, and former colleague Terry Francona will be with him for his first chemotherapy session.

This past Friday, Red Sox manager John Farrell revealed that he has lymphoma and was forced to take a leave of absence from his post.
Farrell had been a coach with the Red Sox from 2007-10 under then-manager Terry Francona, who is now the Indians' manager. They were also teammates as players with the Indians and the two remain good friends.
They are close enough, in fact, that Francona is going to go with Farrell for his first chemotherapy on Tuesday, reports Tom Caron of NESN. The schedule helps matters, as the Indians are in Boston for a three-game series, but this is still pretty cool of Francona.

Francona downplayed going w/Farrell to 1st chemo session. In typical Tito fashion, didn't want him to be story. Tito is just a real good guy

Class act as usual, Tito. Well done.
