It's not often a batted ball deflects off a base, but it does happen from time to time. When it does, the ball usually shoots right up in the air and over an unsuspecting fielder. It's kind of funny when it happens.

On Sunday, Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager hit a line drive off the first base bag, and look where it landed:

How about that? Athletics pitcher Sonny Gray surrendered what should have been a double (or a triple) down the right field line, but instead he wound up with an unassisted putout.

I think there's only one way to describe that: fun.
