WATCH: David Wright HR puts Mets up early in 2015 World Series Game 3
In the first inning of Game 3 in New York, David Wright hit a two-run homer to put the Mets up 2-1 over the Royals
With his Mets down 1-0 to the Royals in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night (KC-NYM GameTracker), team captain David Wright sent a bolt through the Citi Field crowd with this clout off a Yordano Ventura sinker ...
That was a 385-foot, two-run homer that left the bat at 103 mph. That was also just the second postseason homer of his career and the first since Game 4 of the 2006 NLCS. During the 2015 regular season, Wright hit only one home run at Citi Field.
"I've said it before, this is what you dream about as a kid," said Wright after Game 3. "You're thinking about playing in a World Series game, and on top of that being able to contribute with a few RBI and a home run. Running around the bases it's just like floating. You can't describe the excitement of hitting the home run, crossing home plate, high-fiving your teammates, and looking up and seeing people going absolutely nuts. It's one of those memories, at least for me, that will stick with me for the rest of my life."
