It feels like adding Renfroe should be a no-brainer at this point, regardless of the scoring format. He was the 19th-best outfielder in Rotisserie leagues last year and the 21st-best in Head-to-Head points. He's also on the sort of heater that would merit a longer look even without that history. He went 4 for 4 with a homer run Sunday, giving him six home runs in his past nine games. He's up to a .254 batting average and .828 OPS for the year as compared to .259 and .816 last year.... Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Goes deep again
Renfroe went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 7-2 loss to Boston. Renfroe put Milwaukee on the board with his two-run shot off of Josh Winckowski and it proved to be the team's only offense of the afternoon. The 30-year-old outfielder has gone deep six times over his last nine games, going 12-for-38 (.316) with 14 RBI during that span. He improved his season slash line to .254/.305/.523 with 19 homers and 35 runs scored through 68 games.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Sleeper hitters for Week 18 (Aug. 1-7)
Renfroe is coming off a four-hit game, has homered six times in his past nine, and should remain hot with the fifth-best hitter matchups this week, going against the Pirates and Reds rotations.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Blasts 18th homer
Renfroe went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Red Sox. Renfroe's two-out home run in the fifth inning provided some much-needed cushion for Milwaukee, which held a 2-1 lead before he left the yard for the 18th time this season. He'll be in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, starting in right field and batting sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Leaves yard again
Renfroe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in the Brewers' 7-6 win over the Twins on Tuesday. Renfroe saw his three-game home-run streak come to an end in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Rockies, but it didn't take the 30-year-old to start up a new streak. He's now up to 17 home runs on the season, trailing Willy Adames (20) and Rowdy Tellez (18) for the team lead. Renfroe will be back in action for Wednesday's series finale, batting fifth while manning right field.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Homers in third straight
Renfroe went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's victory over the Rockies. Renfroe has come out of the All-Star break on a tear, recording three straight multi-hit games and homering in each one. He now owns an .827 OPS on the season, which would be the best full-season mark of his career.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Possible waiver wire pickups
Following a so-so start to the season, Renfroe has been on fire since returning from an ankle injury a little before the All-Star break, homering in three straight and hitting safely in seven straight. It has his batting average and OPS (.257 and .827, respectively) back to right about where they were last year (.259, .816), when he was the 19th-best outfielder in 5x5 leagues and the 21st-best in points. He won't finish that high this year, factoring in the time he missed, but with quality outfielders being in short supply, I'm certain there's someone who could use him in just about every league where he's available.... Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Sleeper hitters for Week 17 (July 25-31)
Recently back from a calf injury, Renfroe is looking to mash, having homered in three straight games, and has some mashable opponents in Kyle Freeland, Chris Archer, Dylan Bundy and Brayan Bello.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Homers again Saturday
Renfroe went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Rockies. Renfroe gave the Brewers their first lead in the fourth frame with his 424-foot three-run shot to center field. The blast was his second in as many games since the start of the second half, and he's gone 4-for-9 with five RBI over that brief stretch. Renfroe's power tends to come in bunches -- this is his third consecutive-game homer streak this season.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Blasts game-tying homer in extras
Renfroe went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 6-5 extra-innings win over the Rockies on Friday. Renfroe came up big with his team down by two in the bottom of the tenth by blasting a two-out, two-run shot to left field to tie the game. It was Renfroe's 14th home run of the season. The 30-year-old right fielder now has a five-game hitting streak stretching back to before the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Sleeper hitters for short Week 16 (July 21-24)
Having recently returned from a calf injury, Renfroe seemed to be finding his stroke just before the break, collecting a hit in four straight. He'll get to enjoy the Rockies pitching staff in the shortened Week 16.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Records rare steal
Renfroe went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Giants. Renfroe was 0-for-1 in stolen base attempts this year before swiping second as part of a double-steal in the first inning. Considering this was his 14th career steal in seven years, the outfielder shouldn't be expected to run often. He's gone 1-for-8 with a walk in two games since he returned from a calf injury that cost him a few weeks. Renfroe is slashing .243/.296/.481 with 13 home runs, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and 10 doubles through 56 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Not in Wednesday's lineup
Renfroe isn't starting Wednesday against the Twins. Renfroe returned from the injured list for Tuesday's matchup against Minnesota and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. However, he'll get a breather while Jonathan Davis starts in center field and Jace Peterson takes over in right.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Makes return from IL
The Brewers reinstated Renfroe (calf) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game in Minnesota. He'll start in right field and bat eighth in his return to action. Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reported over the weekend that Renfroe was unlikely to make it back from the IL until the Brewers' final series before the All-Star break in San Francisco, but the 30-year-old will end up returning to action a couple days earlier than anticipated. He didn't require a minor-league rehab assignment while he was on the shelf, as the Brewers were evidently encouraged enough by how Renfroe's strained left calf responded to running and outfield work. Renfroe is expected to settle back into an everyday role in the outfield, leaving fewer opportunities available for the likes of Jace Peterson, Keston Hiura and Jonathan Davis.... See More ... Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Likely out until late next week
Renfroe (calf) appears likely to return during the Brewers' series in San Francisco late next week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Renfroe has been on the injured list with a left calf strain since June 26, but he resumed baseball activities Monday. He's slated to miss at least a few more days, and it's possible that he's sent on a rehab assignment prior to rejoining the Brewers.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Resumes baseball activities
Renfroe (calf) resumed baseball activities Monday, Joey Pollizze of MLB.com reports. Renfroe had been inactive since landing on the injured list with a calf injury, but he was able to get some work in on the field Monday. It's not yet clear how much longer Renfroe will be sidelined and if he will need a rehab assignment before he returns.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Won't return Sunday
Renfroe (calf) won't be reinstated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Sunday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Renfroe was initially optimistic that he'd be able to rejoin the Brewers following a minimal IL stint, but he's still bothered by his calf injury and hasn't yet resumed running on the field. The team will give him extra time to recover to prevent a long-term issue, but it's not yet clear when he's expected to return.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Not starting again Saturday
Renfroe (calf) is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays and will be available off the bench only in an emergency, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Renfroe did some running today and it appeared he did well enough to avoid the injured list, but he'll still be sidelined for the third straight game by the calf injury. The Brewers have a scheduled day off Monday, so he could be held out again Sunday to provide some extra rest heading into Tuesday's series opener in Tampa Bay.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Dealing with calf injury
Renfroe has been held out of the lineup the past two games due to a calf injury, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The specifics of the issue remain unclear, but he apparently suffered the injury while going 1-for-4 with a double during Wednesday's matchup with the Cardinals. It should become clearer Saturday whether or not Renfroe will require a trip to the injured list.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Hunter Renfroe: Sitting second straight game
Renfroe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays. The Brewers haven't announced any sort of injury, but Renfroe finds himself on the bench for the second straight contest Friday. The 30-year-old has a .900 OPS with three home runs and seven RBI over his past 10 games, so his absence from the lineup certainly isn't performance related. Tyrone Taylor will again move to right field while Jonathan Davis starts in center.... See More ... See Less
