  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Moved to 60-day DL

Hathaway (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Friday, the Associated Press reports.

Hathaway, who has been sidelined all season while recovering from shoulder bursitis, recently made his first rehab appearance with Double-A Jackson. After missing all of spring training, Hathaway wasn't on track to join the Diamondbacks in the near future anyway, so moving him to the 60-day DL afforded the big club more roster flexibility. The Diamondbacks added Gregor Blanco to the 40-man roster in place of Hathaway.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Joins Double-A for rehab

Hathaway joined Double-A Jackson on Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment, Jack Magruder of Fanrag Sports reports.

Hathaway finally appears to be nearing a return to action after missing the first month of the season with bursitis in his left shoulder. The 25-year-old saw some time in the majors last season, but given his 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP across 14.2 innings with the big club, he'll likely head to Triple-A Reno upon activation.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Will throw Monday

Hathaway (shoulder) is scheduled to throw off flat ground Monday, the Associated Press reports.

Hathaway opened the season on the 10-day disabled list with bursitis in his left shoulder, and since it appears he's only in the initial stages of a throwing program, it could still be a couple more weeks before he's activated from the DL. The 25-year-old turned in a 4.91 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 14.2 innings with the big club last season and missed all of spring training due to the shoulder issue, so he'll likely be bound for Triple-A Reno once he's deemed healthy.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Placed on 10-day DL

Hathaway (shoulder) is listed on the Diamondbacks' 10-day disabled list.

Hathaway was out for all of spring training with shoulder bursitis and doesn't have a clear timetable for a return. After turning in a 4.91 ERA over 14.2 innings with the big club last season, Hathaway figures to head back to the minors once he's activated and deemed healthy enough to pitch again.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Won't be active Opening Day

Hathaway (shoulder) is expected to begin the season on the disabled list, Fox Sports Arizona reports.

Since it was announced in February that Hathaway was dealing with bursitis in his shoulder, there has been very little information regarding his level of throwing activity. Because he hasn't pitched any live innings this spring, the Diamondbacks will look to have him throw in a few rehab games before making his eventual return to the big club's bullpen.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Dealing with shoulder bursitis

Hathaway has been dealing with bursitis in his shoulder, Nick Piecoro of AZCentral Sports reports.

The southpaw is dealing with some irritation in his shoulder, and he will likely be out for only a short time, given that it isn't anything more serious. He posted a 4.91 ERA in 14.2 innings with the Diamondbacks last year, and will look to earn a spot in their bullpen for 2017.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Recalled from Triple-A

Hathaway was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

The southpaw notched an unimpressive 5.79 ERA in 9.1 innings as a specialist out of the D-Backs' bullpen earlier this year. He should resume a low-leverage role against lefties out of the bullpen over the final month of the season.

  • Diamondbacks' Steve Hathaway: Optioned to Triple-A

Hathaway was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Hathaway's three-run meltdown in his big league debut inflated his overall ERA to 5.79, but in August, the 25-year-old righty posted a 3.00 ERA over nine innings. However, the Diamondbacks wanted to make a shakeup in their bullpen Thursday, so they optioned Hathaway and Dominic Leone. Hathaway will head back to Triple-A, but he could return to the Diamondbacks in September when rosters expand.
