Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Beginning rehab assignment
Henriquez (elbow) is beginning a rehab assignment Wednesday with Low-A Fort Myers, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports. Henriquez battled right posterior elbow soreness throughout much of spring training, but he was able to begin a throwing program toward the end of March and now the 22-year-old is ready again for live competition. He posted a 2.31 ERA across his first 11.2 major-league innings last season with the Twins and should be an option for their bullpen by mid-May.... See More ... See Less -

Henriquez (elbow) is on track to begin a rehab assignment next week, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Battling elbow injury
Henriquez is dealing with right posterior elbow soreness, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports. The reliever underwent an MRI and will be re-evaluated in about a week after receiving an injection. Henriquez probably wasn't going to crack the Opening Day bullpen anyway, but this injury should officially rule out that possibility even if it doesn't wind up being serious.... See More ... Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Sent back to minors
Henriquez was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Henriquez was promoted from St. Paul on Sept. 18 and made three appearances in his first taste of the big leagues, and he pitched well with a 2.31 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB across 11.2 innings. Simeon Woods Richardson, who is starting Sunday in Detroit, was called up in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Receives first MLB call-up
The Twins recalled Henriquez from Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. Henriquez, whom the Twins acquired in March in the deal that sent catcher Mitch Garver to the Rangers, will reach the big leagues for the first time in his career. The 22-year-old right-hander split time between the rotation and bullpen at Triple-A this season, delivering a 5.66 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 106:33 K:BB across 95.1 innings over his 24 appearances (14 starts). He'll likely serve as a long-relief option for Minnesota.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Ronny Henriquez: In extended spring training
Henriquez was held back in extended spring training, Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com reports. Henriquez, who was acquired from Texas in the Mitch Garver trade, logged 93.2 innings across High-A and Double-A last year, so there wouldn't be a workload reason to hold him back. With this in mind, he is likely either injured or working on his mechanics. He should eventually be assigned to Double-A Wichita.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Heads to minors
The Twins optioned Henriquez to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Henriquez was one of six pitchers optioned to minor-league camp as the Twins made their first round of cuts. Acquired earlier this month from the Rangers in the deal that sent Mitch Garver to Texas, Henriquez will move up a level to begin his tenure with a new organization. He split time between Double-A Frisco and High-A Hickory in 2021, compiling a 4.71 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 105:25 K:BB in 93.2 innings between the two stops.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Ronny Henriquez: Dealt to Minnesota
Henriquez and Isiah Kiner-Falefa were traded from the Rangers to the Twins in exchange for catcher Mitch Garver on Saturday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Henriquez advanced to Double-A Frisco during the 2021 season and recorded a 5.04 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 69.2 innings across 16 appearances (11 starts). The right-hander will likely begin the 2022 campaign at Double-A Wichita but is a part of the 40-man roster, so he'll have a chance to progress quickly if he performs well early in the year.... Rangers' Ronny Henriquez: Earns promotion
The Rangers promoted Henriquez from High-A Hickory to Double-A Frisco on Thursday, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports. Henriquez will get a tougher challenge after he submitted a 3.75 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB across 24 innings over his five starts for Hickory. Signed for a modest sum of $10,000 out of the Dominican Republic in July 2017, the 20-year-old right-hander has provided an excellent return on investment for the Rangers.... See More ... See Less
