Guardians' Angel Genao: Ready for sim games
Genao (shoulder) is scheduled to begin participating in simulated games at the Guardians' spring training facility as early as next week, SI.com reports.
The switch-hitting shortstop has been sidelined all season after spraining his right shoulder during spring training. He remains on Double-A Akron's 7-day injured list, but he should be ready to make his Eastern League debut in the coming weeks. If Genao's shoulder responds well to playing in simulated games, he's then expected to begin a rehab assignment with the Guardians' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.

Guardians' Angel Genao: Out until June
Genao sprained his right shoulder during spring training and will be sidelined at Double-A Akron until June, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Genao grew taller and added notable lower-body muscle over the offseason, but his rapid ascent will be slowed by this injury. The switch-hitting shortstop hit .330 with 10 home runs, 25 steals and a 15.5 percent strikeout rate in 110 games last season split between Single-A and High-A. He turns 21 in late May, so he'll still be one of the youngest hitters at Double-A once he returns from injury.

Guardians' Angel Genao: Showing versatility at High-A
Genao is slashing .322/.377/.463 with four home runs, 13 steals and a 16.3 percent strikeout rate in 66 games for High-A Lake County.
Genao was promoted to High-A on June 3, just two weeks after his 20th birthday. He hasn't hit for the same power as he did at Single-A to start the year (six HR, .212 ISO in 44 games), but his hit tool remains a strength and he's tallied 25 steals in 110 games on the year. Genao has started 36 games at shortstop, 16 games at second base and 11 games at third base for the Lake Captains.

Guardians' Angel Genao: Advances to High-A
The Guardians promoted Genao from Single-A Lynchburg to High-A Lake County on Monday.
The 20-year-old infielder was one of Lynchburg's standout performers through the first two months of the minor-league season, hitting .346 and getting on base at a .387 clip while slugging seven home runs and stealing 10 bases over his 199 plate appearances. Genao should settle into the everyday role in the middle infield at Lake County that was vacated by second baseman Nate Furman, who was promoted to Double-A Akron on Monday.

Guardians' Angel Genao: Reinstated from IL
Genao (knee) was activated from Single-A Lynchburg's injured list Friday.
Genao had missed all of the season while recovering from a torn meniscus. The 19-year-old infielder should get an everyday role at Lynchburg, and a strong performance there could see him elevated to High-A Lake County before the end of the year.

Guardians' Angel Genao: Recovering from torn meniscus
Genao is in extended spring training while he recovers from a torn meniscus in his right knee, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
One of Cleveland's top recent international signees, the switch-hitting Genao slashed .322/.394/.416 with two home runs and six steals in the Arizona Complex League. He figures to spend the year at Single-A Lynchburg once healthy.
