Waguespack spent all of 2021 with Triple-A Buffalo, where he recorded a 2.86 ERA in 69.1 innings as a swingman. Heading into his age-28 season, he's young enough that he still has the chance to impress overseas and make his case for another MLB contract, though his 5.08 ERA in 95.2 career innings at the highest level isn't particularly impressive.

Though Waguespack was ousted from the competition for a rotation spot with the big club when he was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on March 26, he should represent one of the top options to step in when a spot starter is needed during the 60-game season. He proved to be serviceable over his 16 appearances (13 starts) for Toronto in 2019, logging a 4.38 ERA and 63:29 K:BB over 78 innings.
